Electro Bal Folk from Italy
Tersycore is a new Italian trio bringing a fresh wave to the BalFolk scene, merging tradition and cutting-edge sounds.
On stage, the vibrant strings of Jacopo Ventura, the hypnotic reeds of Dario Gisotti, and the pulsating synths of Andrea Sica create a sonic journey where groove meets folk dance.
Rooted in the European BalFolk and Irish music circuits, Tersycore aims to deliver an Italian response to the new wave of electronic BalFolk projects from across the Alps, blending French, Irish, and Mediterranean melodies with deep basslines, immersive synths, and driving rhythms.
Ventura, one of the leading guitarists on the European folk scene, has collaborated with renowned Bal Folk and Irish acts including Gadan, Lyradanz, and Folkamiseria, blending acoustic energy with a modern edge.
Gisotti, one of Italy’s most respected uilleann pipers, has gained international recognition with Trioblique, while Sica, producer, sound designer, and co-founder of Folkamiseria, brings rich electronic textures and infectious grooves.
Together, they deliver a powerful, magnetic live experience where traditional pipes and electronic sounds intertwine in an irresistible, dancefloor-driven flow.
Despite having formed just over a year ago, the trio has already earned enthusiastic acclaim at Big Bang Folk Festival, Montelago Festival, Boombal (Belgium), and Claddagh Festival. Their growing international presence continues with confirmed appearances at CiocaBal, Sylvester Tanz (Germany), ComSiBal (Belgium), MidWinterFair (Netherlands), and numerous other European festivals throughout 2027.
In just a short time, the trio has established itself as an exciting new presence on the European electro-folk and Bal Folk circuit, bringing a fresh, high-energy sound that bridges traditional roots and contemporary electronic music.
